Thinking about a Palestine tour or traveling to Palestine to get the facts on the ground? This is the tour for you! Embark on a journey through this ancient land and experience its multifaceted culture firsthand. Travelers will be welcomed into their host family's home each morning with fresh Arabic Coffee, then explore religious sites as well as meet members of government, clergy, activist organizations - getting up close to all sides involved in this complex region. Hear stories from locals about life in Palestine & Israel for an unforgettable educative trip that touches both heart and mind.
From the ancient scriptures to present day conflicts, our Encounter & Study Program delves deep into how and why one of the longest running political disputes has come to be. We will journey through centuries of persecution against Jews culminating with a mass exodus in 1948 that forever upended life for Palestinians. Confronting both violent tactics rooted in this odyssey as well as nonviolent resistance movements, we explore what led us here today while giving participants an arena to discuss potential solutions moving forward..
The Holy Land is a land of remarkable diversity, going far beyond the simplistic binary terms that often define it. Palestinian Arabs represent different religions - Muslim, Christian, Jewish, and more - while an Armenian diaspora has managed to preserve its unique culture and language over time. Meanwhile, Bedouins and Druze communities live with complex relationships within the settler colonial system in this fascinatingly diverse region. As a perticipent to of this Fact-Finding tour we will dive into these cultural dynamics.
Our world-renowned "homestay" program is an integral part of the Fact-Finding tour. Here, participants are invited to stay in a family home and have candid conversations about things they may not otherwise bring up around large groups. Our host families come with decades of experience and recognize that real growth comes from honest, open dialogue - key traits for peacemaking efforts worldwide.
We take a comprehensive approach in addressing settler colonialism and its impact on the region by engaging with key local, international and Israeli/Palestinian NGOs at our meetings. We also provide critical insight into resistance movements both inside as well as outside of native communities that are looking to achieve lasting solutions for peace.
